What to do
Excursions
Using the refuge of Amitges as a starting point we can do numerous excursions into the landscapes of the high mountains. We suggest some ascents to the peaks and excursions to other refuges.
Climbing
The region of Amitges is a traditional school of climbing. There are numerous boulders near the refuge like the well-known Needles of Amitges and places to climb less frequented.
Skiing and snow rackets
In winter the refuge opens throughout many days in February and March to coincide with school holidays in France. It also opens for most of public holidays, for Easter week and by reservation.
