About all mountain refuges
They provide accommodation to people practising outdoor mountain activities.
Refuge hours and internal rules are thought to favour people carrying out such activities.
They do not provide as many services as the ones you could get in a hostel.
Although it is recommended, you do not need to be a member of any alpine association.
People staying in refuges usually book half board (supper, bed and breakfast) or full board (which is half board and a picnic bag).
Rates are a little higher than those down in the valley.
There are mattresses and blankets in the dormitories but you need to bring a sleeping bag or a sheet bag.
The waste that you have carry up, you have to take down to the collection point of the valley. The refuge usually gets rid of the waste it generates.
The services offered can notably vary from one refuge to another. It depends on their location, access, structure of the building or on the management criteria.
